Would you like to have your say about the practice?
Are you interested in finding out more about the practice?
Would you like to influence the development of local health services?
On 9th June 2020 Healthwatch Islington is hosting a virtual meeting on being healthy in lockdown with ideas for healthy eating, indoor exercise and well-being tips, we would really appreciate it if they would publicise this to clients, volunteers, staff and Health Exchange members who might be interested.
In 2011 we set up a Patient Participation Group which meets a few times each year to discuss the services we offer. We also discuss changes within the NHS, and how these might impact on patient care.
So far the following changes have been made as a result of these meetings :
We extended our opening hours. Since November 2013 we no longer close the door or divert the telephone between 2 and 4pm.
The Group thought that patients are not always aware of the services that are available in the practice. We therefore decided to have a look at the ways in which we communicate with you.
- we have installed a notice board specifically for practice news;
- we put more information on our website
We took out a subscription for a monthly supply of a variety of magazines, suitable for women, men and children.
It is now possible to book a telephone consultation;
- this will save you time if you have a query, but do not really need to see a doctor
- it will free up appointments for patients who need a face-to-face consultation
- it allows the doctor to give you an appointment outside the normal clinic hours if he decides you need to come in.
As a result of feedback about confidentiality issues (patients in the waiting area could overhear what was being discussed at the reception window) we have changed the layout of the reception. The window is now situated away from the waiting room.
If you have an idea on how to make the surgery even better, why not attend one of our meetings - we are always looking for new members.
If you are interested please contact Gill Coulson, our senior receptionist or Indre Petkute, the practice manager. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 02076078259.
If you don't want to join the Group you can use the suggestion box in the waiting room, have a chat with one of our members of staff or click the 'Contact Us' tab to share your ideas with us.
